Writing Pack

This is a simple concept which is designed to provide opportunities for children to write. In this pack are 6 weeks of writing prompts with 5 prompts included each week - one for each day. The writing prompts are only supposed to take children 5-10 minutes to complete and they should only aim to write 3 or 4 sentences. However the sentences they write should be of high quality and the children should aim to include a range of connectives, sentence starters, vocabulary and punctuation. At the end of the session it is recommended that the teacher provides an opportunity for the children to share what they have written. Examples of prompts included are: I was very disappointed when… If you looked under my bed, you would find… If I could go anywhere in the world, I would go to… If I was the teacher, I would… These writing prompts are provided in both PDF and PowerPoint format so they can be displayed on a whiteboard or printed out.
